Jason Thomas's View of Washougal and Race Report

Washougal is a beautiful track to see but I just don't care to ride it that much.  It is very nice in the morning, loamy and tacky, but quickly turns into ice.  During the motos, the surface is very slippery and very easy to lose control on.  All weekend I struggled with traction and never felt
totally comfortable out there.

In my first moto I had a decent start but my teammate, Travis Preston, and I made contact.  That put me back into the middle of the pack and forced me to charge forward.  I rode as hard as I could and had to pass some very fast 4 strokes.  I climbed back up to 15th place, one spot behind Preston.

The second moto brought more of the same.  A poor start relegated me to the back of the pack and a lot of passing to follow.  I moved up as well as I could and almost caught up to Yoshi Atsuta.  That was good for 14th place in the moto and 14th overall.

We now have a two-weekend break so I am going to take some time off and have some fun.  With the season nearing its end, I want to be fresh for the last three races and try to make a push for a top ten!!!
